Interior Contractors’ Services in Kenya
Why do you need Interior Contractors?
Contractors play a key role on an interior construction site, where it is rare for a single company to do the job. Using sub-contractors allows interior design companies, like Wallpaper Kenya, to focus on their core business while entrusting specialized work to professionals with a narrow specialization. Interior contractors bring with them a wealth of experience and qualifications, which not only improves the quality of the tasks performed but also optimizes costs. Instead of maintaining a large staff, you can engage with a contractor, thereby reducing costs and speeding up the construction process due to the parallel execution of various types of work.
1. Project Planning & Consultation
Wallpaper Kenya consults and works with you to understand your vision, budget, and timeline. Thereafter, we can offer design advice, suggest materials, and create a project plan.
We have in-house architects and we also team up with other architectural firms where necessary. And build according to the information, plans, and specifications of the executive project.
2. Demolition & Abatement (Optional)
As interior architects and interior design contractors, we handle interior demolition of walls, floors, or hazardous materials (asbestos, lead paint) and, or collaborate with subcontractors. But this is a different detail from interior design.
3. Construction & Remodeling
Construction and remodeling are the heart of our work as interior design contractors. We manage the construction crew, ensuring electrical, quality wood framing, flooring, plumbing, and other tasks are completed according to plans and building codes.
Through an interior design contract, you hire us to design the interior appearance of your property (house, apartment, premises, etc.), using modifications such as lighting, wallpaper, paint, flooring, furniture, and the like.
For example, you own a vegetarian restaurant and want to make it more pleasant for your customers. So you hire Wallpaper Kenya, who will be in charge of designing the interior appearance of the restaurant. And we do it in such a way that it reflects the type of food that you sell and gives the restaurant a better appearance.
It is not the same as an architectural design contract, though we can take too.
Interior design contract versus Architectural design contract
Under an interior design contract, the modifications we do are mainly aesthetic and the work on the property does not involve the construction or modification of beams, walls, columns, etc.
If the desired design is a new building or the transformation of the internal structure of an existing property, an architectural design contract must be completed.
Interior design contract versus civil works contract
It is not the same as a civil works contract.
While both the civil works contract and the interior design contract involve work on a property, in the interior design contract the service provided is to create the final appearance of a site under certain criteria given by the client. On the other hand, in the civil works contract the service consists of the realization or execution of a specific work.
In civil works contract the contractor does not assume any task of imagining the final appearance or providing the client with advice on aesthetic issues.
Interior Finishes
Interior finishes are one of the most important features when working with interior contractors. They are the finishing touches that truly transform a space from functional to beautiful, inviting, and personalized.
We oversee the installation of cabinets, countertops, fixtures, flooring, and painting, bringing your design vision to life.
These finishes are the final layer that brings our shared vision to life. We carefully choose materials, textures, and colors to tie the entire design scheme together, creating a cohesive and aesthetically pleasing space.
The best interior finishes go beyond aesthetics. We consider functionality, ensuring the space is comfortable, practical, and meets your lifestyle needs. For example, durable flooring and easy-clean surfaces in high-traffic areas like kitchens.
Finishes have a profound impact on the mood and atmosphere of a room. Warm colors and natural textures create a cozy feel, while cool tones and sleek finishes evoke a modern and minimalist vibe. As interior design contractors, we use finishes strategically to achieve the desired ambiance.
4. Project Management
Interior contractors are the maestros of renovation and remodeling projects. And project management is our symphony conductor’s baton. We take the burden off your shoulders, handling all the details and communication with subcontractors.
We coordinate with all subcontractors (electricians, plumbers, carpenters), order materials, and ensure the project stays on schedule and within budget.
This includes creating a detailed project plan outlining all the tasks, timelines, and milestones involved in the renovation. Because we want to ensure everyone involved is on the same page and the project stays on track.
We establish a clear budget and track all expenses throughout the project. This way, you stay informed and avoid surprises.
Our communication & coordination act as the central point linking you, subcontractors (electricians, plumbers, carpenters, etc.), and suppliers.
And all the time ensure that all work adheres to building codes and your design specifications. By conducting regular inspections and addressing any quality issues promptly.
Technologies for managing interior contractors
Modern solutions significantly simplify interior contractor management, help avoid potential risks, and ensure high-quality results. Among them:
- ERP systems: provide comprehensive management of company resources, including procurement, inventory, finance, and contractor management. ERP systems allow you to track material deliveries, control project costs, and optimize contractor interactions at all stages.
- CRM systems: Used to store contractor data, maintain interaction history, and manage contracts and contacts. CRM helps organize and structure all communications with contractors, providing quick access to the necessary information.
- Electronic document management systems (EDMS): speed up and simplify the process of exchanging documents with contractors. Coordination of contracts, signing of acts, sending of tasks – all this can be done electronically, which saves time, eliminates the loss of documents, and increases the transparency of interaction.
- Cloud project management services: provide a convenient platform for joint work on projects. The customer and contractors can track the progress of tasks in time, control deadlines, discuss current issues, and promptly resolve emerging problems.
- Mobile applications: Provide prompt communication with contractors, allow you to keep photo reports, record comments and monitor the execution of tasks directly at the site.
The introduction of modern technologies into the contractor management process increases work efficiency, reduces risks, and helps to achieve high results in the implementation of construction projects.
